I received the item as ststed.At this time, I have not used the unit as I am currently using a model discontinued. When all product from the old unit are used I will begin using the new one. I don't anticipate any problems with the new unit.

I am very pleased with Philips Sonicare UV Sanitizer. I have used a Germ Terminator for several years but the sanitizer is much easier to use and takes up less space. I feel that the germs usually on a toothbrush can extend the time of illness but when you sanitize your toothbrush every time you use it, you are not re-infecting yourself. I would recommend it.

The ultraviolet light disinfection process used by this unit may make some people think it's the latest quack invention, but ultraviolet light is being used in hospitals for disinfection. With H1N1 and other viruses around, it is great to take 10 short minutes to disinfect our toothbrush heads. I love my husband, but don't want to share his toothbrush grunge by storing our toothbrush heads close together in a toothbrush holder! The unit has a minimal size footprint and fits on my sink without being in the way. This was an excellent health investment for very little money!

I purchased this sanitizer as i am a bit of a germaphobe however; I am not sure that hot water wouldnt accomplish the same thing. I guess we cant be too safe.
